Matthieu Parenteau

Matthieu J. Parenteau is a partner and trial attorney at Sweeney Merrigan Law, LLP, where he has devoted his career to representing individuals and families in catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases. He has tried and litigated cases across the country, earning a reputation for his skill, dedication, empathy, and unwavering commitment to justice for those harmed by negligence and corporate misconduct.

Attorney Parenteau’s practice encompasses a broad range of complex personal injury matters, including motor vehicle and trucking collisions, construction accidents, premises liability, negligent security, traumatic brain injury, medical malpractice, and product liability. His results include multiple eight- and seven-figure recoveries—$17 million, $10 million, $10 million, $5.5 million, and $5 million—as well as numerous other multimillion-dollar outcomes. He has also secured multiple jury verdicts, including a recent $5.1 million award in Essex County for a client who suffered a broken arm.

He is admitted to practice in both the state and federal courts of Massachusetts and Maine. Outside the courtroom, Matt enjoys skiing, running, playing guitar, and spending time outdoors with his family and their adventurous Labrador retriever, exploring New England’s mountains and coastlines.
