BOSTON, MA – Tragedy struck on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Boston when a man was found fatally injured. Initially presumed to be the victim of a hit-and-run crash, officials later concluded the injuries were likely sustained from a fall.

The Massachusetts State Police reported that a 50-year-old man was discovered with grave injuries around 8:20 a.m. on a ramp leading from the eastbound lanes of the Massachusetts Turnpike to the Prudential/Copley Exit in Boston, on Friday. Despite being treated at Tufts Medical Center, the individual succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities initially believed the man was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene based on where he was found. However, further investigation found no evidence of a collision with a vehicle.
