Taxi Driver Killed and Woman Injured in Massachusetts State Highway Collision

A fatal car accident occurred on Saturday night in Massachusetts, claiming the life of a 68-year-old taxi driver and injuring a 24-year-old female passenger.
The Massachusetts State Police reported that the crash took place around 10:30 p.m. on Soldiers Field Road. The driver of the vehicle involved, a Toyota Camry taxi, was taken urgently to Brigham and Women’s Hospital where he was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival. Emergency personnel provided immediate care at the scene with a Trooper administering CPR to the man until Boston Fire and EMS teams arrived.
Officials detailed that the taxi was traveling westbound near the Weeks Footbridge when it suddenly veered off the roadway and collided with a tree situated on the roadside. The cause of the accident is still being scrutinized by authorities.
The passenger involved, who had been collected from Logan Airport and was en route to her Cambridge residence, sustained injuries deemed non-life threatening. She was promptly transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for treatment.
Multiple divisions of the State Police are involved in the ongoing investigation, including the Boston Barracks, Detective Unit for Suffolk County, Troop H Detective Unit, Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and the Crime Scene Services Section. Investigators are examining all aspects that may have contributed to this tragic incident.
