Car accident in Boston

In Northborough, Massachusetts, a high-speed car chase involving a stolen vehicle led to a dramatic highway crash on Monday. State Police reported that a 15-year-old was behind the wheel with two adult passengers when the pursuit took place across multiple highways, concluding with an accident off Interstate 290. The juvenile driver is facing numerous charges but was released to his mother pending arraignment in Worcester Juvenile Court.

Among the charges the teen faces are failing to stop for police, speeding, fleeing the scene of property damage, and receiving a stolen vehicle. One of the adult passengers, a 20-year-old whose false identity as Ibrahim Hasbun was uncovered by police to be Kyen Perez, was arraigned on Tuesday. Charged with receiving a stolen vehicle, Perez was held on a $1,000 cash bail and is scheduled to return to court on May 23, facing an additional charge of providing a false name to police.

The second adult passenger, a 20-year-old woman, was summoned to court charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle. During the pursuit that initiated in the MetroWest area, State Police utilized a helicopter to track the stolen car as it moved along Route 9, Interstate 495, Route 70, and eventually onto I-290. Officers successfully deployed stop sticks, tools designed to deflate tires gradually, which led to the eventual crash of the vehicle in question.
