In a tragic incident on Sunday evening, a 4-year-old girl was fatally struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Congress and Sleeper streets in South Boston. The accident occurred at approximately 5:06 p.m., and the young victim was accompanied by her family at the time of the collision. She was immediately transported to Massachusetts General Hospital, where she subsequently succumbed to her injuries.

The Boston Police Department was quick to respond to the incident, thoroughly investigating the scene and interviewing the driver involved in the accident. Despite the ongoing investigation, there have been no arrests made in connection to the event. Local residents expressed their shock and described the incident as a terrible tragedy.

One eyewitness, Joseph Alibali, a resident of South Boston, recounted the immediate aftermath of the accident, noting the disturbing sounds of screams followed by the arrival of emergency services. Witnesses spoke of the rapid response, detailing a scene filled with flashing lights, police tape, and even helicopters arriving to assist.

While the specifics of what caused the accident remain under investigation, the proximity of the popular Boston Children’s Museum has raised concerns about pedestrian safety in the area. The museum’s president and CEO, Carole Charnow, issued a statement expressing her devastation over the loss of the young girl.
