Introduction

J. Tucker Merrigan is co-managing partner at Sweeney Merrigan Law, LLP.  He started Sweeney Merrigan Law with his brother and fellow co-managing partner, Peter M. Merrigan, in 2010.  Since, Sweeney Merrigan Law has become a Massachusetts and National powerhouse in the practice of plaintiff’s litigation.  It has been many years since the firm began with its first settlement of $9,500.00 and has evolved to recovering over $84 Million in its most recent litigation.

Much of the success attributable to Sweeney Merrigan is a direct product of Attorney Merrigan’s commitment the firm’s reputation as practicing with the highest integrity and genuine commitment to the craft of passionately advocating for his clients.  Along with his brother, Peter, they have assembled a team of New England’s very best and most aggressive litigators and trial attorneys in the area of plaintiff’s injury litigation.

Attorneys Tucker and Peter Merrigan have devoted much of their practice to representing over 125 Massachusetts Cities and Towns in the National Opioid Litigation, filing lawsuits against some of the world’s largest companies for their roles in causing the Opioid Crisis.  Born in Greenfield, Massachusetts, Tucker takes great pride that his hometown of Greenfield was the first City to file suit in the Opioid Litigation in December 2017.

I found Tucker Merrigan and his associates while looking online as I was in the hospital after being struck by a car. Tucker responded with alacrity and came directly to the ER to meet with me while I waited to be transferred to a regular floor. I found him to be kind, caring, knowledgeable and concerned. He maintained an open line of communication with me all through the legal process, never once leaving me to wait a long time for an answer. He thoroughly explained legal terms in a manner that allowed me to understand everything during the process of my case from start to finish. He offered advice without pushing me in any particular direction; rather, he explained all possible outcomes with each possible decision. I feel he maintained a focus on my case, not letting the issue linger, as can sometimes happen in the court system. Okay, here it is I fell in a bar, I slipped on puddle of booze dislocated my hip and crack my pelvis. I told everybody they’re like no way you were in a bar it’s not going to happen you’re not going to get any settlement. Losers….. not only did I get like 23 Grand I didn’t have any witnesses that would help me and no camera footage, everybody said oh she’s drunk and this and that it’s a bar well Tucker merrigan is the man so if somebody did you wrong and you know you were not at fault and you are unable to lead the life you were leading before something bad happened to you that somebody else is responsible for, call Tucker Merrigan, he da man. I received my awesome settlement in less than a year from my fall. #money

Tucker Merrigan handled a few accidents I had and there is a reason why I kept going back. He was always there when I had a question, comment, or concern. Everything was clear and concise. I remember the first accident he handled and came to my home when I was unable to leave. He brought all the necessary paperwork and I never had to visit the office except when my settlement check was ready. When I made that visit to his office, I could not find parking and he brought the check out to me while I was parked in my car. A year ago I contacted Tucker Merrigan about my motorcycle accident. He was quick to respond (less than 24 hours) and even setup a meeting conveniently close to where I work. Oct 5 i was involved in a car acciedent and didnt know who to turn to.I asked a friend and he told me Tucker Merrigan at Sweeney Merrigan Law. I contacted Tucker and he immedatley helped me with my case.I was in his office the day after the inital phone call explaining what had happened.
