Sweeney Merrigan Law “Project Backpack” Booth Will Also Feature Free Temporary Tattoos and Face Paint for Marshfield Fair Children’s Day
BOSTON, MA – AUGUST 1, 2025 –The Boston-based law firm Sweeney Merrigan Law announced the first-ever “Early Open” event at the Marshfield Fair, that will offer fairgoers with sensory sensitivities, an opportunity to experience the Fair without the overstimulation of crowds and noise. Sweeney Merrigan will also operate a booth that will offer free backpacks full of back-to-school supplies, face painting and temporary tattoos.
The Early Open will take place 9:00am-4:00pm, August 20. (General admission opens at 12:00pm.) The Sweeney Merrigan Project Backpack Booth will be open on August 20.

The 157th Marshfield Fair will be held August 15-25, 2025. Starting in 1862, the Fair’s mission was to promote agriculture, horticulture, mechanical arts and all related fields. What started as a meeting of just 19 farmers now draws over 150,000 fairgoers from across the state. It is the fourth oldest fair in Massachusetts, after the Three County Fair in Northampton (1818), the Topsfield Fair (1820) and the Barnstable County Fair (1844).
Marshfield Fair Children’s Day is Thursday, August 21: Children 12 and under get free admission, and all kiddie rides are 50% off.
